Albacon loves costumes. We encourage our members to wear them throughout the con. Unlike costumes created especially to be shown onstage during the masquerade, hall costumes are costumes that are comfortable and sturdy enough for you to wear for hours at con events, parties, and in the halls! You may win a hall costume award ribbon and certificate from one of our roving hall costume judges.
Since Albacon 1996, gaming has been a part of the Albacon experience. Our family style gaming environment offers you a chance to stop by between panels/events and relax for a few minutes. Or stay longer and participate in a variety of games. More Info
Albacon 2011 will be having two video rooms, featuring the latest anime in the U.S., and live action films from around the world.
A hit from last year, Albacon is repeating the Thursday evening Writers' Workshop Party.
Friday's all-day writers' workshop is back! We will have panels addressing a variety of topics such as breaking into writing, the business of writing, blogging, networking, queries, promotion and podcasting.
Ice cream, toppings, and fun! 8pm-9pm
Albacon is hosting a High Tea, 3pm-5pm

For multiple reasons, the Albacon 2011 convention has been cancelled. The Albacon Committee and LASTSFA apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. A letter from the President of LASTSFA is available on the Albacon website. Paid registrations that we have in-hand will either be returned or transferred to 2012 as per the registrant's preference. Albacon 2012 is still on schedule and we hope you will join us for it. (Letter from the LASTSFA President)

We ran into some glitches with the original dates. Albacon has moved three weekends later, to 21-23 October, 2011. This also allows us to keep the same weekend for 2012!
