Costume Contest
On Saturday, at 8 PM. Albacon will once again provide cosplayers and costumers an opportunity to show off their favorite costumes or characters and will award cash prizes to the entries our judges pick as the top three entries (first prize: $100, second prize: $50, third prize: $25).
The audience and judges will be able to see you and your costume up close. There are no forms to fill out or rules to learn, just show up at the announced time in costume and ready to show yourself off to your fellow fans. We’ll line you up to appear. There will be a mike available that you can use to tell everybody about your costume or character, and the judges and the audience will be able to ask you a few questions. At the end, the judges will leave to decide the winners of the prizes , then return to hand out the prizes.
Ice Cream Social
Friday night is Albacon’s traditional Ice Cream Social, with ice cream for all convention members
TAFF Auction
Albacon will be hosting an auction for the Trans-Atlantic Fan Fund to bring a fan from Europe to the Worldcon. There will be books and other science fictional items to be bid on to raise money. Catalog is online.
