October 10, 2003, More on Traffic: Joe Berlant reports "Construction on Northway [ed. I-87 north of NYS thruway Exit 24] just north of Exit 13. Coming back tonight, [ed. Thursday] around 8:30, there was a short line of backed up traffic going north. They were setting up the lights when we went up at 6:30 but only had 1 lane closed for a short distance not really delaying traffic. No problems coming south." Thank you for that info, Joe.

October 8, 2003, Traffic Advisory: As a warning, traffic on I-87 just north of the NYS Thruway Exit 24 interchange tends to be heavy from 4pm until 6pm. This seems to be especially true on Fridays! If you expect to be hitting the Exit 24 interchange during those hours, plan on adding 30 minutes to the trip. Exit 24 is where the NYS Thruway transitions from I-87 north to I-90 west, so you have lots of workers from Albany heading north on I-87 to get home, and many vacationers getting off of the Thruway and heading north.

June 19, 2003, Our hotel, the Schenectady Ramada, has been sold and is closing for renovations from September 2003 through January 2004. Albacon 2003 will happen on its scheduled dates of October 10-12, 2003. We aren't sure where at this time. We will keep you posted.
