Albacon is sponsored by LASTSFA, the Latham-Albany-Schenectady-Troy Science Fiction Association. Before Albacon, LASTSFA ran LASTcon in Albany NY. It has also run two World Fantasy Conventions: 2007 and 2015, both in Saratoga Springs NY. LASTSFA sets rates and policies for Albacon, and approves the chair of each convention. Most club members are also involved in the running of the convention.

Dues for LASTSFA are $10 per individual, or $25 per family, due annually, payable on 1 January. LASTSFA welcomes anyone; our meetings are online.
